Job Overview:

The ideal candidate is a resourceful and inquisitive engineer with a passion for implementing data center networking/infrastructure projects, infrastructure automation, and software development at all levels of the software stack. Must thrive in a high-paced startup environment, under frequently changing requirements & shifting priorities. Must be willing to acquire, at short notice, new software/programming skills to support a growing business.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to define data center automation use cases with Big Switch SDN products
  • Implement cloud-based product demos
  • Evangelize across customers, technology partners, as well as internal stakeholders
  • Manage and extend cloud-based labs to evangelize Big Switches SDN solutions
  • Develop technical collateral (blogs, technical white papers, video demos, etc.) for market awareness and thought leadership

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • Experience with high-level programming languages such as Python, and motivated to learn other languages such as Ruby (Required)
  • Experience working with JavaScript, CSS, HTML (Preferable)
  • Experience configuring & managing Linux using CLI, experience with REST APIs (Required)
  • In-depth understanding of networking concepts, (layering, addressing, security policy) & Linux network stack (Required)
  • Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting, packet analysis with Wireshark (Required)
  • Strong analytical skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously (Required)
  • A proactive, can-do, positive attitude and start-up experience (Required)
  • 3 – 5 years of programming/automation experience required
  • Master degree preferred, BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or equivalent (Required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with at least one of OpenStack, VMware vSphere, Container orchestration systems
  • Experience with data center networks & SDN
  • Proficiency with Ruby-on-rails, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services - EC2, Cloud Formation, VPC
  • Git & CI/CD processes, DevOps, Automation
  • This position will be based out of our office in Santa Clara.
