Job Overview:

The Inside Sales Development Representative’s primary goal is to qualify leads and develop early stage opportunities for hand-off to field sales – drive pipeline.  S/He is responsible for presenting Big Switch's products and services to all vertical customers in the America/Canada, EMEA, & APAC Regions. S/He will utilize telephone/communications skills to call on WW Marketing leads to qualify and develop early stage opportunities for hand-off to WW Account & Country Managers. S/He’ll be part of a growing team that includes field sales managers and sales engineers, working collectively to meet/exceed monthly and quarterly sales performance goals.

 Essential Functions & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Prospect, qualify and win new business through customer engagements of warm and cold leads
  • Identify decision makers within target accounts to initiate sales process
  • Maintain and expand business with existing customers
  • Develop relationships with channel partners and distributors to conduct joint sales activities
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions and competitors' products and pricing and keep up-to-date on knowledge of the Company
  • Collaborate with Territory Account Managers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches
  • Create and deliver qualified opportunities to Territory Account Managers for larger opportunities
  • Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects and the forecasting of opportunities in Salesforce CRM
  • Set up and deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations and other sales actions
  • Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into qualified leads or opportunities
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers
  • Coordinate customer training as necessary

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • BA/BS in Business or related field, or equivalent, required
  • 5+ years sales experience in the Tool, Network Packet Broker, or Network Markets required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Office Suites, and Salesforce CRM required
  • Self-starter with a “sales hunter” mentality
  • Ability to communicate complex technology and value propositions
  • Sense of urgency, ability to constantly prioritize, awareness of timelines and deadlines
  • Detail oriented with prompt administrative follow up and attention to accuracy
  • Able to portray a high level of professionalism and confidence to clients via phone and email
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an account team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High energy and drive to achieve results, superior relationship building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Fluency in other Language(s) –a plus
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions – a plus
  • Experience working with channel partners (VARs) throughout the sales cycle – a plus
