Job Overview:

The Development Representative’s primary goal is to qualify leads and develop early stage opportunities for hand-off to field sales – drive pipeline.  The successful candidate will be responsible for outbound prospecting and supporting our federal field sales teams. The candidate will develop new business opportunities inside U.S. Government Agencies via metric driven prospecting efforts and opportunity qualification.

Prior experience with inside sales, social media and the Federal IT space will be a spring-board for success in this role.  You will utilize telephone/communications skills to call on WW Marketing leads to qualify and develop early stage opportunities for hand-off to WW Account Managers. You’ll be part of a growing team that includes field sales managers and sales engineers, working collectively to meet/exceed monthly and quarterly sales performance goals.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prospect, qualify new business through marketing campaign engagements of warm and cold leads
  • Identify decision makers within target accounts to initiate sales process
  • Maintain and expand business with existing customers
  • Identify new leads in WW Accounts and qualify new Expansion Opportunities
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions and competitors' products and pricing and keep up-to-date on knowledge of the company
  • Collaborate with Territory Account Managers to determine how to best position BSN’s product value
  • Create and deliver qualified opportunities to Territory Account Managers for larger opportunities
  • Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects and the forecasting of opportunities in Salesforce CRM
  • Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into qualified leads or opportunities
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers
  • Coordinate customer training as necessary

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • BA/BS in Business or related field, or equivalent, required
  • 5+ years sales experience in the Tool, Network Packet Broker, or Network Markets required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Office Suites, and Salesforce CRM required
  • Self-starter with a “sales hunter” mentality
  • Ability to communicate complex technology and value propositions
  • Sense of urgency, ability to constantly prioritize, awareness of timelines and deadlines
  • Detail oriented with prompt administrative follow up and attention to accuracy
  • Able to portray a high level of professionalism and confidence to clients via phone and email
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an account team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High energy and drive to achieve results, superior relationship building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions – a plus
  • Experience working with channel partners (VARs) throughout the sales cycle – a plus
