Job Overview:

The Federal Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue and sales results. The Federal RSM is a self starting, direct contributor role requiring multi-agency knowledge, acquisition processes and strategic guidance to Senior Executive and Military Leadership. This includes understanding customers' requirements and decision making criteria regarding Cloud, SDDC & Data Center modernization, NFV, Containers, Defensive Cyber Operations as well as Active Cyber Security and countermeasures.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Must be a flexible and dynamic Team Player with the ability to organize and manage resources utilization effectively delivering sales results.
  • Generate net new pipeline (hunter skills) utilizing a combination of resources including outbound mechanisms, Social Media channels, events and marketing activities and relationships. 
  • Recruit and enable business partners in accordance with global partner strategy and objectives
  • Forecasting accuracy utilizing Salesforce.com to track opportunity progress, customer interaction and timelines. 
  • Support in-region marketing activities
  • Manage and support deal strategy, structure, and approval process in collaboration with corporate, customer service, and sales operations teams.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • BS/BA in Business, CIS, or closely relevant education and experience required
  • 5+ years direct/partner field sales experience required, preferably within the IC & DOD
  • Clear understanding of Government Cloud requirements, trends and resources.
  • Data Center Networking background including VMware NSX, RedHat OpenStack/OpenShift and Container utilization.
  • Strong knowledge of and working relationships with the Federal Systems Integrator community
  • Forecast management and opportunity tracking utilizing SalesForce.com
  • Multitasking skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Working knowledge and experience leading diverse sales teams selling complex technology solutions
  • Sound business acumen, and ability to work closely with C-level executives
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to develop complex account plans and strategies
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally (verbal and written) with customers and to interface with a variety of organizations
  • Strong time management, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Global/multi-national business experience is preferred
  • Experience with physical and virtual network monitoring and data center switching
  • A proactive, can-do, positive attitude and start-up experience is a big plus
  • In depth knowledge of SDN, SDDC, Cloud, Containers and Cyber Security

Working Conditions:

  • Home office based located in the Metropolitan Washington DC area.
  • Up to 50% ground/air travel required and may work at other undetermined worksites in the U.S.
